This is a bit off topic and neither concerns music or photography but it is something that is dear to my heart at this election day:
We should be glad to be living in a democratic country with the right to vote. It’s disappointing to see so many people not making use of it, and more shockingly believing they will change something. Sure it’s hard to decide what political party to vote for and it does always imply certain compromises. Nones agenda will ever comply with yours for 100%. Living in a society always means that you have to make certain compromises. But still it’s better than throwing away ones vote and thereby supporting other parties whose agenda is worse. Isn’t it?
Also I do not believe that you are sending the politicans a sign by not voting or by handing in an invalid voting paper. Sure the general disenchantment with politics will be discussed in the media after the election, when it becomes obvious that the election participation was low, but in the end none will be interested in it anymore. Sure this is often used as an argument by non-voters against politicians with the remark that they don’t care about the voice of the people, but I still believe if you want to change something in society, you have to do more than just stay home on election day. I think that’s just a bit too easy.
